July 2015

Well, it looks like I will be your Commander for one more year. Even though I was not planning on running, I was asked by several people to serve one more term and I have agreed to do so. I appreciate the support and confidence you have with me and I am happy to serve. There will be only two changes on the board, that being 2nd Vice and Chaplain. Kathy Durant (2nd Vice) and Chuck Wedekind (Chaplain) both declined their office due ...Read More

June 2015

Well, we made it to May but it is still only 45 degrees as I write this. Thank you to everyone who showed up for clean-up on May 2. A special thanks to John Feldner and the American Legion Baseball team of about 20. Everything was done by 11:00 a.m. and they were gone to get ready for prom. They were a great help. Don’t forget the state convention will be July 15 to 19 in Appleton. If anyone is interested in going, contact one of the off...Read More

May 2015

We lost a good friend and legionnaire this month. Les Brennum passed away earlier this month. Les was a 44 year member of this post and was here basically from the beginning. He was, in my opinion, one of the hardest working and most dedicated members of this post all those years. He will be missed greatly and our thoughts and prayers are with Les’s family. Karen and I want to thank everyone for their sympathies with the death of...Read More

April 2015

We are over the hump for winter and it is a downhill slide from here on. Happy Spring! Our sympathies go out to SAL member, Mike Schnabel and his family. Mike’s son, Jeremy died in a car accident on March 17. This will be a short letter from me this month due to another death in Karen’s family (her sister). I will be meeting her in Stevens Point shortly for the services. I want to thank you for your thoughts during my hospital stay. I am o...Read More

March 2015

Other than a few days of really cold weather this week, it looks like a downhill slide for spring. In the last newsletter, I neglected to recognize Mark Hanson and the S.A.L. for their participation in the Legion Family Christmas party and for that I apologize. We will be having the American Legion Birthday party on March 21 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Legion will supply the meat and if anyone would care to bring a dish to pass, that wou...Read More

February 2015

The end of December and the first two weeks of January were not good to me. Santa gave me the flu from December 21 to 26. Karen has no sympathy for sick people, so I sent her to her mothers in Stevens Point for Christmas and it was me and the dog all week. On January 4, my father-in-law passed away with a heart attack so that was another busy week. Karen and her mother want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during t...Read More

January 2015

Due to the holidays approaching and a busy schedule for all, this will be a short newsletter this month. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We have had a bad month for sickness and injuries in our Legion Family. Ron Walsvick, Ray Popp, Mike Valdovinos, Dale Everett and Karl Schuetz are all having issues. If you know any of these members, please call them and wish them a s...Read More
