I hope everyone had a very Happy Independence Day celebration with family and friends. It was nice having a break from meetings. Out Unit is wrapping up a few June projects like the six Baby Diaper Bags for Hospitalized Women Veterans. I am told the duo of Bonnie Lamp and Bonnie Jenkins will have the bags at our August meeting. Kelly Vinge and I had a great time shopping for items for the VA Hospital. We added our shopping bounty to items donated by Ellyn Thompson to the VA Hospital. I hope everyone has a great time at the Golf Outing. If you are not golfing and would like to lend a hand, we could use a few more volunteers to help with the food preparation. Good Luck to all the golfers! I have been asked by the Take-a-Vet- Fishing team to let everyone know about an opportunity to help them raise funds, by working the Taste of Madison – Take-a-Vet-Fishing booth this Labor Day weekend. Contact Rob Blanchar at 838- 3956 for information. It seems I am suffering from several episodes of memory lapse. It seems I forgot to personally thank some of volunteers in last month’s newsletter. I am truly sorry if I did not mention you by name; please know it was not intentional. I value and appreciate everyone’s time and effort that you give our Unit and Post. Without you, the volunteer, our Unit and Post would not be able to accomplish our mission of serving to the needs of our veterans, family and community. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Don’t forget to purchase your Legion Raffle tickets. Our next meeting is on August 2nd. During this heat wave, let’s be sure to watch over our friends and family.
