Hello to all, Welcome to June. The weather is much better now. The most important event for May is the Memorial Day ceremonies at our post. Please refer to the flyer in last month’s edition and if you can, please attend so we can have a good turn out to remember and thank our veterans for their sacrifices. We will need help putting up flags at 6:00 AM and taking them down at 4:00 PM. 2nd Vice Bill Bley also needs help with the parade at Christ the King Church. Call Bill at 579-1517 if you can help. We will also be putting the flags up at 7:00 AM on June 12 for Take a Vet Fishing and could use some help then also. There will be several vets attending this event and we want to honor them by putting up the flags. We had post clean up on May 7. There was a very light turn out from our members and we were not able to get as much done inside as we wanted, but we got through it. Many thanks to Coach John Feldner and the American Legion Baseball team for all the work they did outside. They washed all the windows inside and out, cleaned all the weeds and leaves from the memorial, power washed the memorial and cleaned the gutters on the buildings and the lawn. They were like a bunch of ants on that hill. We had nominations for officers at our May 6 meeting. We will be taking nominations again at the June 3rd meeting with elections to follow and installation of officers on June 24th. There will be no July meeting. Commander Mike
