July has turned
out to be a good
month, weather wise,
and I hope it continues
into the winter.
Although I was
not able to be here, the
flags went up on July
4th. There were only 11
people helping put
them up so it took a
little longer than usual.
We had a smaller scout crew to fold the flags when
they came down but the task was accomplished.
Thanks to all those who helped.
The raffle is coming up fast so if you haven’t
got a ticket yet, please do so. We need to sell all
200 tickets. This has been our main fundraiser for
many years. The drawing, dinner and refreshments
start at 5:30 Saturday, August 8.
Denny Haugen, Darrell Krenz, Bill Bley and I
attended the state convention July 17 and 18 in
Appleton. I will fill you in on the events on the next

article in this issue pertaining to a dues increase by
the state and national. This undoubtedly will mean
we will have to increase our dues to cover this
increase next year. If you haven’t paid your dues
yet, please do so before an increase occurs.
I want to thank Polly and Don for their work,
dedication and cooperation with the Auxiliary and
S.A.L. They both have worked very hard over the
years to make their organizations successful.
We have a special event coming up on
September 12 from 5 to 9. Our past Department
Commander, Denise Rohan, is going to run for
National Commander and we have agreed to host a
fund raising event. A flyer insert accompanies this
newsletter on the First Annual Sportsman Banquet. I
would like to see a good showing from our post
since we are the host. We also will need 10 or so
volunteers to help. I will have a list posted on the
board to sign up. Tickets will be available at the
