July has turned out to be a good month, weather wise, and I hope it continues into the winter. Although I was not able to be here, the flags went up on July 4th. There were only 11 people helping put them up so it took a little longer than usual. We had a smaller scout crew to fold the flags when they came down but the task was accomplished. Thanks to all those who helped. The raffle is coming up fast so if you haven’t got a ticket yet, please do so. We need to sell all 200 tickets. This has been our main fundraiser for many years. The drawing, dinner and refreshments start at 5:30 Saturday, August 8. Denny Haugen, Darrell Krenz, Bill Bley and I attended the state convention July 17 and 18 in Appleton. I will fill you in on the events on the next Post Notes. Please make sure you read Bob O’Donnell’s article in this issue pertaining to a dues increase by the state and national. This undoubtedly will mean we will have to increase our dues to cover this increase next year. If you haven’t paid your dues yet, please do so before an increase occurs. I want to thank Polly and Don for their work, August, 2015 dedication and cooperation with the Auxiliary and S.A.L. They both have worked very hard over the years to make their organizations successful. We have a special event coming up on September 12 from 5 to 9. Our past Department Commander, Denise Rohan, is going to run for National Commander and we have agreed to host a fund raising event. A flyer insert accompanies this newsletter on the First Annual Sportsman Banquet. I would like to see a good showing from our post since we are the host. We also will need 10 or so volunteers to help. I will have a list posted on the board to sign up. Tickets will be available at the post.
